Richard grew up in Hamilton and attended the University of Western Ontario, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts with Honours. Subsequent to this, he moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to attend law school at the University of Saskatchewan, where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree. While attending law school, Richard spent a semester working for the Community Legal Assistance Services for Saskatoon Inner City Inc., providing legal services and legal advice in the areas of civil litigation, criminal law, and commercial law to low-income individuals.
Richard articled and practiced as an associate at a boutique law firm in Toronto, Ontario before transitioning to De Bousquet PC. Richard was called to the Ontario Bar in 2016. Richard maintains a general litigation practice with experience in civil and commercial litigation, criminal law, employment law, and family law. Richard regularly appears at the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, and has appeared at the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Richard is an avid tennis player and enjoys personal fitness, professional sports, and travel.
